What’s a girl to get a guy for his 30th birthday? Oh I don’t know, how about a drive through the Italian countryside in a Lamborghini, private track time, and a coaching from an Italian race car driver! This was the gift of a lifetime. I will never be able to live up to this one!
We started at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
Then we picked up the car. I followed behind Ben as he drove through the countryside of Modena to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino racetrack in Bologna where Ben had the track to himself! He and his coach worked on the technical track.
The pressure was on for me to grab a photo! I only had a split second before he was gone again!
The racetrack was the Aerautodromo di Modena. It was only open to Ben and his driver, Alberto Cola, a professional racer who we discovered had spent some time in Chico, CA!
After sneaking into the driver’s seat to pretend like I drove, we were off to see the Lamborghini Museum & Factory!
We started with the museum while we waited for our tour. Seriously, I could easily have driven away in any of these cars!
There were no photos allowed in the tour, but let me just say….it was amazing!!! If you get a chance to do it in your lifetime, jump on it! It’s so incredible to see each piece made by hand. Everything from the leather interior to the hand molded exterior pieces were treated like a work of art, crafted individually with care. Outside of the factory, each new car is tested on the road.
I was physically terrified for that driver as he barreled by the Lambo on that narrow road.
But don’t worry….he made it!
