In 2016 I posted 80 recipes! Even I am a little overwhelmed by that number. Here were the most popular recipes from 2016:
#1 Post: Crockpot Turkey Chili
This is a tried & true crockpot gem right here. I’m so glad you guys are enjoying it as much as I do. Its low carb, high protein, high fiber, super easy to make, and delicious.
#2 Post: Sweet Potato Souffle
This fluffy whipped sweet potato souffle hidden underneath a crunchy brown sugar, pecan topping has been a featured dish at our Thanksgiving for generations, but it looks like everyone really got into this for Christmas dinner!
#3 Post: Mini Veggie Lasagna Cups
Maybe you saw this recipe posted on Buzzfeed – 15 Delicious Finger Foods to Serve at Your New Year’s Eve Party or Huffington Post – 28 Lasagna Recipes That Are Simply Delicious!
#4 Post: Deviled Eggs
Ben & I order Deviled Eggs whenever we spot them on the menu of the latest gastro pub and I’ll be honest, I like mine better. I’ve honed this recipe over years of trial and error. It’s my favorite recipe on this list (and that’s saying a lot since bran muffins & potato soup are also on here). These deviled eggs have a touch of sweet from relish and a touch of savory from the dab of mustard & light sprinkling of paprika. The secret to great flavor is that tiny bit of a really high quality mustard. Not yellow ballpark mustard. Go for a nice grainy, French mustard.
This recipe didn’t gain a lot of interest when I first published it, but it got really popular after Easter. So if you have a ton of leftover hard boiled eggs this Easter, you know what to do with them!
#5 Post: Southern Cornbread
The debate between savory Southern cornbread and sweet, cake like Northern cornbread rages on, but this one will always be a winner (especially dunked in that Crockpot Chili!).
#6 Post: Potato Soup
This is comfort food at it’s best. This is the soup that my mom would make for me whenever I was sick. It instantly makes you feel better!
#7 Post: Crockpot Chicken Tortilla Soup
Super easy, loaded with veggies & protein, topped with avocado….yum!
#8 Post: Pineapple Cherry Balsamic Chicken
This chicken dish was inspired by our travels through Italy and was made with Italian Balsamic from the Modena region.
#9 Post: Honey Bunches of Oats Treats
A grown up counter part to Rice Krispy Treats, these are loaded with healthy almonds & oats then drizzled with dark chocolate.
#10 Post: Bran Muffins
I can’t believe that Bran Muffins made the top 10 list, but I can’t tell you how happy I am that they did. This is honestly one of my favorite recipes on this list! I know that Bran Muffins don’t sound that appetizing, but these are! Banish thoughts of dry hotel lobby bran muffins. These are super light, fluffy, & sweet. Everyone who has ever tried these Bran Muffins has been converted!
Which one of these is your favorite?
