Our Wanderlust Wednesday series is traveling down to the Caribbean this month & I will be sharing our trip down to the stunning island of St. Lucia! I am looking forward to sharing sun soaked island photos. It has been one of the most amazing places that we’ve visited. If you missed out on some of our other country travel posts from Italy, France, or Iceland check out the Travel page!
We started our stay at Sandals Halycon. I know, such a honeymoon spot! It’s the smallest of the three Sandals on the island and by far our favorite. It had that small boutique feel to it. You still get the ease of being at an all inclusive without the crowds. We really got used to never having to carry a wallet around! The defining quality of this particular Sandals is the jungle garden feeling. From the moment we stepped out of our room, we were surrounded by beautiful plants, really reminding you that you’re on a jungle island!
There are 6 restaurants and 7 bars on site. While the swim up bars were pretty amazing with each bartender crafting a different special drink each day and Kelly’s Dockside (in the first picture) is so picturesque sitting out over the water, our real favorite spot was the Beach Bistro. It sat quietly at the end of the beach where we could lounge on the sand & pop up for a pina colada. The Caribbean jerk burgers with grilled pineapple & Caribbean spice were a daily favorite!
All around the resort are gorgeous little cabanas & nooks for ducking into. We took refuge in them whenever the tropical showers started up so that we could lounge and watch the rain. The showers never lasted long and it was fun experience.
I loved those blue ocean so much that I had to dress to match!
The water is darker than I expected, but still so so warm! I just wanted to spend all day in it!
In addition to the amazing restaurants on site, you can arrange for a private dinner on the beach. How romantic is that???
