Ring in the new year with a Mandarin Champagne cocktail!
It’s like a mimosa but with more of a kick!
Champagne, sparkling wine or prosecco
Slice of Orange
Dip the rim of a champagne glass in simple syrup.
Twist glass in a bowl of sparkly sugar.
Pour 1 ounce Mandarin vodka (my favorite is Hangar One, a local distillery) into sugared champagne flute.
Fill glass the rest of the way with champagne or Prosecco.
Finish with a squeeze from a slice of orange and toast to the New Year!

NYE “Ball” Drops

Fredericksburg, Virginia: An illuminated pear is dropped.
Temecula, California: A bunch of grapes is dropped.
Panama City, Florida: An illuminated, 800-pound beach ball descends from a tower 12 stories high at midnight. At 8 pm there is a “family ball drop” with 10,000 beach balls.
Plymouth, Wisconsin: Watch an 80-pound decorated cheese wedge descend from a ladder truck operated by Plymouth Fire Department at midnight
Mobile, Alabama: A 600-pound, lit Moon Pie is lowered
