This month is all about getting healthy and on the right track for the New Year. We’ve covered detox tea, energy bites, and a healthy smoothie. Now let’s talk about dinner. Healthy dinners need to be delicious and easy to do, otherwise they just aren’t going to be made. Healthy Panko Salmon is one of our favorites. It’s super good for you salmon, but the sweetness from the honey and the crunch from panko make it seem so decadent.
Panko Crusted Salmon | Let’s look at why this dish is so good for you. Salmon is an excellent source of vitamin B12, vitamin D, andselenium. It is also a good source of niacin, omega-3 fatty acids, protein, phosphorus, and vitamin B6. Using mustard (made from real mustard seeds, not the yellow kind!) gets you calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and potassium. Then there is the honey. It can be used as an antioxidant, it has antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, it boosts athletic performance, and it is a rich source of vitamins and minerals.I always buy local honey. Its so good for you in preventing allergies! Finally we have panko. While not inherently good for you, it is a great alternative to bread crumbs which have higher sodium and fat while still giving you a nice crunch.  Panko Crusted Salmon |
