Happy New Year Everyone! This is one of my favorite times of the year to reset and recharge. Its a very reflective time where everyone is mulling over how their last year went and making resolutions on how to make the next year even better! Rather than making super ambitious New Year’s Resolutions, I try to make little healthy changes that will last longer! This year I’m starting off with a resolution to start my day on the right foot with a super healthy breakfast so I’ve partnered with Post® Raisin Bran to bring you a super healthy, antioxidant packed smoothie loaded with fiber! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you start off with a nice mix of protein, healthy sugar from fruit, and plenty of fiber then you will stay full until lunch & won’t be tempted by those pastries next to your morning coffee! Although… after trying this antioxidant smoothie, your morning may be so supercharged that you don’t need your coffee!
To make your smoothie, combine yogurt, water, protein powder, fruit and 1/2 of the cup of Post® Raisin Bran to your blender. It’s important to remember to put the wet ingredients in first, then build to the thicker ingredients. That will allow your blender to run at it’s best and will minimize the chance of remaining chunks. Blend for 1 minute or use your smoothie presetting.
The final touch on making the smoothie is to layer it in a bowl or glass for an added crunch! Start by pouring in some smoothie, then sprinkle some additional Post® Raisin Bran, add some sliced bananas, then repeat! Continue to layer until you reach the top of the bowl. Post® Raisin Bran has 23 grams of whole grain and 8 grams of fiber in it. The raisins add a touch of sweet to your smoothie, while the bran adds a nice crunch. I love smoothies built with layers of texture in it. It makes me want to have more, which helps me keep my healthy breakfast resolution!

- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup water
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 cup frozen pineapple & spinach
- 1 cup high fiber cereal
- 1/2 banana
- Add yogurt, water, protein powder, fruit and 1/2 of the cup of high fiber cereal to your blender.
- Always put the wet ingredients in first, then build to the thicker ingredients!
- Blend for 1 minute or use your smoothie presetting.
- In a glass or bowl, layer smoothie with 1/2 banana and remaining 1/2 cup high fiber cereal.
- Enjoy a healthy start to your day!
