For dinner on our first night in Soufriere we went to the Treehouse restaurant at Anse Chastnet followed by drinks at the famous Jade Mountain. You may recognize Jade Mountain from its appearance on the Bachelor, but let me tell you…it is so much better! We were staying at the nearby Stonefield Estate Resort and once we got there, I didn’t think I’d want to leave our hammock and private plunge pool, but we had dinner reservations at the Treehouse restaurant and you just don’t turn down dinner in a treehouse!
The road to such a high end resort is epically bad with pot holes that I thought would swallow our car. The local guy driving us there said that the roads are private and that the resorts keep them bad in order to discourage people from driving down them and trying to enter the estate. It would certainly work for me!
Anse Chastnet is the family friendly resort and beach at the bottom of the mountain, while Jade Mountain (true to name) is a couples only resort up above in the mountain. We timed our dinner to enjoy the sunset and were taken in by the jewel toned sky and trees at the beach. It left me wondering if we needed to plan a return trip to stay here!
Dinner didn’t disappoint! It was several small courses made with local goodies and served up while soaking in amazing views! Afterwards we asked to get drinks up at the bar at Jade Mountain and were shuttled up. We were greeted by the manager who walked us through the sky walks to the bar by the infinity pool where I had one of the most amazing drinks of the trip. It was their namesake cocktail, the Jade Martini!
Either resort would win a hearty yes please for a return trip. They are set in one of the most stunning areas of St. Lucia and the food is unbelievable!
