Since I did a Southern dish on Monday, I wanted to switch back to highlight a popular California dish for today! There are more sushi bars in San Francisco than I can count. Everyone has their favorite that they swear is the best. At each location though, you can find the steady favorite: edamame. I actually fell in love with this particular version at Under Attic, an adorable Filipino fusion restaurant in San Mateo. They use a smoked salt and grill it to perfection. Grilled Edamame is a healthy and delicious snack to munch on. It only takes about 5 minutes to make and is a wonderful alternative to the calorie laden bowls of chips and dip that are inevitably in place during Sunday games as we watch the playoffs.
