Our little man gets bigger & bigger everyday! He is so full of energy and loves exploring. As the year comes to a close, I find myself looking back through the past 7 months of our baby boy growing up. From first greeting him in the hospital, to the 24/7 cuddles (when he was not willing to indulge my need for photos of him if it meant putting him down!), it has been an amazing, blessed year.

Newborn – Just Minutes Old!

It’s especially amazing to look back at his first and second months of life. I can’t believe he ever looked that small! It was such an overwhelming time. I am partnering with Cord Blood Registry (CBR) to bring you today’s post. One of the best decisions I made, leading up to our son’s birth, was to preserve his newborn stem cells. I am so glad that I made the decision to have this resource preserved for our family. It’s not a choice that you are able to make after birth, so give it some thought well before you head to the hospital. As many of you know, I literally made the decision to do cord blood banking the week we went into the hospital! It wasn’t too late & it was so easy! A kit was sent to us, then when we checked into the hospital, we let them know that we were doing cord blood banking. The nurses took care of the collection, then someone came to pick up the kit afterwards! It was so easy to do, I’m glad we had the opportunity to do it. I’d highly recommend considering gifting this awesome resource full of newborn stem cells to the expecting families in your life.

Now that we have our son home and I watch him exploring, I would do anything to help keep him safe and protected. I love having the peace of mind knowing that his newborn stem cells are safely stored in case a potential need comes up. There are over 80 life-threatening diseases and disorders that stems cells have been used in the treatment of transplant medicine, like certain cancers, metabolic and blood disorders. The science continues to evolve and there are many clinical trials in progress that will hopefully find more treatment options for families in the future. Find out more about exciting research in progress here. I’m happy to know that we have this precious resource preserved for our family and am excited for what the future of our investment holds.

CBR offers some great payment plans to help make this an affordable investment in your family’s future. Consider helping out your expectant loved ones by gifting newborn stem cell preservation with CBR to them this holiday season! Gifts of adorable onesies are always cooed over at baby showers, but cord blood and cord tissue banking is a much longer-lasting gift! CBR is a gift that lives on, long after the holidays are over.
